Abstract | This article discusses gender bias concerning girls in math and science classrooms and careers. It examines some of the reasons for this bias and its effects on self-esteem, and it provides examples of the preventive measures that are currently being used, including the use of girls-only math and science fairs. Gender equity legislation is also highlighted. (GLR) |
